Talk about impressive: there is a new market in St. Petersburg, and it is a foodie’s dream. Locale Market opened yesterday, and it is bringing a gourmet market experience to the area. We were lucky enough to attend a grand opening party and experienced the fantastic new offerings this new addition to the Sundial is bringing to the table.
Locale Market was created by acclaimed chefs Don Pintabona and Michael Mina. The market is basically a foodie’s dream: you can shop for fresh produce, fresh pasta and hand pulled mozzarella (which is amazing), meat, seafood, and even prepared meals. The owners have worked with farmers from the area to bring in locally sourced products. During the event, there was plenty of incredible food to sample, including a bacon wrapped alligator…with a sausage stuffed turducken in its jaws!
There are baked goods, gelato and ice cream, and a St. Petersburger that is sure to be famous in this area.
Upstairs, you will discover a beautiful wine and craft beer bar, cheese and charcuterie (with one of our favorite local cheesemakers: The Dancing Goat!), desserts, and an absolutely breathtaking rustic-chic private dining area called Farmtable Kitchen. Who wouldn’t want to shop for a Sunday Supper and then sit down to eat around that incredible table?
The owners’ monthly market selections are displayed to perfection as well; don’t you just want to add all of these items to your cart?
You can dine, you can shop, you can immerse yourself in a complete foodie experience at Locale Market! Thanks again to the folks at Locale Market for inviting us in to this special preview event. We are excited for return visits and can’t wait to follow the market’s success!
