Today on Sunday Supper Super Stars: Cindy from Cindy’s Recipes and Writings
Who is Cindy: I’m a professional cook for almost 40 years. Currently I work at a women’s college in Pennsylvania. I write for food, garden and environmental magazines and was a contributing newspaper columnist for 3 local newspapers. I review soon to be released mystery books for McMillian Publishing. Recently I started working on providing companies with feedback on their products by hosting Tasting Parties.
I volunteer with the Delaware and Lehigh Heritage Corridor which is building a 165 mile trail through PA. I helped designed a trailhead and help keep a 25 mile stretch of the trail open for the public.
Her favorite #SundaySupper theme so far: My favorite Sunday Supper post was the one we did with Chantal for Bake for the Cure (Funny Cake #SundaySupper #bakeforacure with Chantal). I baked two Funny Cakes and took them to a cancer support community house. I gave the cake to the workers as a thank you for all their support they give to make cancer patients, survivors and their families feel safe, loved and normal. A place where they can just be themselves.
Her most popular #SundaySupper post: My most popular Sunday Supper post was for the color orange! I made a Vegan Pumpkin Orange Cake. The cake is now my favorite vegan dessert.
Fun Facts: I do my own illustrations, puzzles and greeting cards.
Awards: I was part of a two groups that won the Governor’s Award twice in Environmental Excellence. As a Master Gardener I taught composting classes and gave away over 1000 compost bins. I also taught water well safety in local schools and home water testing with the Groundwater Guardians.
