Amazing Smothered Pork Chops

with creamy onion gravy


– salt – paprika – black pepper – garlic powder – onion powder – bone-in pork chops – all-purpose flour – vegetable oil – yellow onion and – garlic minced – unsalted butter – chicken broth – buttermilk – water – chopped parsley

Whisk together salt, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sprinkle over both sides of each pork chop.


Spread out the flour on a plate. Coat each side of the pork chop in a light layer of the flour.


Place a skillet over medium heat. Add oil. Once hot, brown the pork chops on each side until golden.


Add onion to the skillet. Cook until caramelized. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant. Push onion and garlic to the side of the pan. Add butter in the center of the pan. Mix in flour. Stir until the mixture becomes golden.


Pour in broth and whisk. Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer. Whisk in buttermilk and water. Add in pork chops and simmer until tender.


Remove the skillet from heat and serve the pork chops warm with the pork chop gravy and a light sprinkling of fresh parsley.
