With luscious layers of baked apple in an easy tart pastry, it’s like an apple pie, only better.

All-purpose flour Powdered sugar Salted butter Ice water Egg Granny smith apples Light brown sugar Cinnamon Lemon Turbinado sugar

No fancy tart pans here. Galettes are a free-form pastry!

Flour Bowl

Pulse flour, sugar, and butter to form the base of the dough.

Add egg and ice water, process it all together, and stretch it out into a disk.

Slice apples into even pieces.

Mix them with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon.

Roll out the dough and layer the apples in the center.

Fold the dough over the edges and bake at 395 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
