4 hours before you plan on cooking, prepare rub by mixing salt, pepper, dried thyme, and garlic in a bowl.

Coat with the spice mixture, then wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 4 hours.

Preheat oven to 450°F. Unwrap the roast and place it on a rack in a roasting pan. Drizzle oil over the roast.

Place roast in the oven and press start on the app for sear time. After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F.
