The Best Chicken Cordon Bleu


Lay down plastic wrap and place chicken on top. Place a second piece over the chicken. Take a rolling pin and pound until flat.


Lay out the flat chicken breasts side by side and top each one with a layer of Swiss cheese, then a layer of ham.


Roll up each breast into a pinwheel with the cheese and ham on the inside.


Place flour in a dish,  eggs in another dish, and breadcrumbs in a third dish. Take chicken and, roll in the flour, eggs and bread crumbs until coated.


Place chicken onto its own piece of plastic wrap. Use to roll up tightly and seal each end. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.


Place a pan on medium heat. Add butter and flour. Add milk gradually. Stir until the sauce thickens. When it simmers, remove from heat.


Add parmesan and stir in until it melts. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Unwrap the chicken and place on a baking tray. Bake for 35 minutes


Once the chicken is cooked remove from the oven and slice. Plate up and drizzle over the creamy parmesan sauce and serve.
