Air Fryer Asparagus Fries

  • 1 lb. asparagus preferably thin, trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Italian-style
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • 2 eggs beaten

Easy Lemon Aioli Recipe

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp. lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt to taste

Instructions

How to Cook Asparagus in Air Fryer

  • Rinse 1 lb. asparagus in cold water and pat dry.
  • Add 1 cup all-purpose flour to a large dish or platter.
  • Combine 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs, ¼ tsp. garlic powder, and ½ tsp. paprika on a separate plate or platter.
  • Add 2 beaten eggs to a large bowl.
  • Dip asparagus in eggs, then roll in flour. Dip in the eggs again, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  • Transfer breaded asparagus to the tray of your air fryer in an even layer. Make sure to leave a bit of space between each one. If you have two racks, you can fill them both.
  • Set the air fryer to 1800 watts at 400° F for 7 minutes.
  • Remove asparagus with tongs and serve with dipping sauce.

How to Make Aioli with Lemon

  • Thoroughly mix together 1 cup mayo, ½ tsp. lemon zest, 1 Tbsp. lemon juice, ½ tsp. garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Refrigerate.

Before cooking your asparagus, you need to trim it. 
How to trim asparagus:
  1. Hold the woody end of the asparagus between your thumb and index finger and bend it until it snaps off. It should snap cleanly off.
  2. Neatly stack your remaining asparagus spears next to the asparagus you snapped. Use it as a guide to cut off the woody ends of the remaining asparagus using a sharp kitchen knife.
