Sautéed Apples is a quick and simple recipe that would be great served over breakfast pancakes and waffles. It can also be eaten on its own as a dessert or spooned over ice cream for a perfect night cap.

1 oz unsalted butter 2 granny smith apples ¼ cup brown sugar ½ teaspoon cinnamon A pinch of nutmeg A pinch of cardamom A pinch of allspice A pinch of kosher salt 1 teaspoon cornstarch ¼ cup water
Peel and cut apple into ¼” slices.
Mix sugar with spices in a small bowl and set aside.
In another small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in ¼ cup of water and set aside.
Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat.
Add apple to the pan and sauté until almost tender stirring constantly, about 4 - 5 minutes.
Add the cornstarch mixture and the sugar mixture to the pan and allow to boil for 1 - 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Take off the heat and enjoy.
