Place the hamburger meat in the crockpot. Using a wooden spoon, break it up into chunks.
Combine the seasonings in a small bowl and mix, then pour them over the beef and mix them in.
Pour the water over top.
Cover, then set the crock pot to HIGH and cook for 3 hours, or LOW for 6 hours. Stir once or twice during cooking. Adjust seasonings as necessary, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
If using less lean ground beef: Cook the beef by itself for two hours, then drain the fat and add the rest of the ingredients. Stir to break up the meat and cook one more hour.
You can also use 3 packets of taco seasoning of choice. Choose your favorite!
Make sure to add the water! It helps keep the meat moist and lets the seasonings seep into the meat to fully flavor it.
Give the meat a good stir a few times as it cooks. This will help keep it from cooking into a big disk.
For sweeter taco meat, add a tablespoon of brown sugar. For spicier taco meat, add 2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper or a dash of hot sauce!
