Pork Steak Marinade

Grill up the most flavorful pork steaks you'll ever taste with my Pork Steak Marinade, featuring savory soy sauce and fresh, tangy lemon!

Ingredients

  • 8 Tablespoons Olive oil
  • ¼ cup Soy sauce
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • Lemon juice from 1 lemon
  • Lemon zest from 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Sea salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and lemon zest. You may need to microwave it to help the honey dissolve.

  • Add in the salt, pepper, and minced garlic, and mix again. Set aside ¼ cup to brush on the steaks later.
    2 cloves Garlic, Black pepper, Sea salt
  • Place the pork steaks in a ziplock bag, then pour the marinade over top of them. Squeeze the bag to ensure the steaks are fully covered. Set in the fridge to marinate overnight, or on the counter to marinate for at least 1 hour (but never over 2!). Use the reserved marinade to brush on the steaks after cooking.

Notes

  • Let the pork marinade for at least 12 hours. Overnight is ideal! I know it's a pain, but it's really important to give the meat time to soak up all that flavor. The difference is incredible!
  • You can easily make marinade ahead of time by pouring it in the bag with the meat, then freezing the meat until the day before you're ready to cook it. It'll marinade perfectly as it thaws overnight!
  • Make sure to reserve some marinade to use as a sauce later!
  • If you have extra marinade in the bag, pour it in the pan after the steaks have cooked. Let it simmer for at least 5 minutes, then pour it over the steaks for a delicious sauce.
