- 1 cup White rice
- 2 cups Water or 1½ cups if using rinsed rice
- 1 Tablespoon Salted butter
- ½ teaspoon Salt
Optional: Place the rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear, shaking it to ensure all the rice is rinsed.
1 cup White rice
Pour the water in a medium-sized pot over medium-high heat, and bring to a boil.
2 cups Water
Add the salt and butter, and let the butter melt completely. Bring back to a boil.
1 Tablespoon Salted butter, ½ teaspoon Salt
Add the rice and stir it in. Once it's simmering, turn the heat down to low, and cover the pot with a lid.
Simmer for 17 minutes without touching the lid. Once it's no longer bubbling, start checking doneness.
Once the rice is tender, remove the pan from the heat and let rest for 10 minutes with the lid on.
Fluff with a fork, then serve and enjoy!
