Happy Sunday!
This week has been a big one for me in so many ways!
For one, I found myself featured in The New York Times! My ad partner, Raptive, took out an ad to raise awareness about the impact AI is having on creators like me, and many others in the publishing world.
Let me give you a little behind-the-scenes insight into my business: one of the main ways we keep Sunday Supper running is through the ads you see on our site. Raptive manages those for us, and they’re very hands-on. They don’t just handle our ads; they’re involved in nearly every part of our business, including email and SEO. They’re beneficial, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my success.
Recently, Raptive launched its “Keep it Real Campaign” to fight back against what’s happening with big tech companies. These companies use our content without permission or compensation to feed their AI tools – tools that are now directly competing with creators like me. This campaign is about preserving the internet’s human spirit and ensuring creators are fairly compensated for their hard work.
If this sparks your interest, you can read more about it here. I’ve been so honored to join this movement and discussions with other creators; it’s been a real learning experience for me!
Ron and I can’t stay away from our slice of paradise in the North Georgia mountains at Currahee Club. I tell you, I can’t ever be in a bad mood when I am here. The views are breathtaking, and the mountain air is so crisp in the evenings that I get to cozy up in my favorite blanket. We were thrilled to have Ronnie join us for the week to play in a member-guest tournament with Ron, and enjoyed every minute of his company. Ron and Ronnie had an absolute blast playing golf together. Although they did not win, they made wonderful memories!
This weekend was a girl’s weekend for me. I spent my days on Lake Hartwell, which is so incredibly peaceful, with my favorite sun hat, beach tote, and a new pool float I got for my birthday, which made relaxing in the water even better. I also visited two local wineries that are just spectacular; I had no idea that the North Georgia mountains had wineries this beautiful! The first one we visited was Kaya Vineyards. This winery has a great atmosphere, with live music, families, and even dogs enjoying the outdoors on the deck.
After that visit, we spent the afternoon at Montaluce Winery. This winery makes you feel like you are in Napa. It is so beautiful! We enjoyed the best lunch, and I loved their Chardonnay. I can’t wait to bring Ron and my kids back here. The restaurant is right up their alley!

To wind down after our fun day, we spent the evening at my friend Cathy’s house. Her outdoor kitchen is so relaxing, and it was so nice to catch up with everyone. We all brought an appetizer to share, and everything was delicious. I made a salad I had never tried before; since Cathy was serving a Mexican chicken tortilla soup, I decided to make a Mexican chorizo salad to go with it. It turned out so good and made such a great presentation in my favorite wooden salad bowl that I promise I will be adding it to the website soon. To make it, I roasted corn, chickpeas, and pepita seeds – and honestly, I’m craving it all over again as I write this newsletter!
With cooler weather settling in here in the mountains, I have been getting into a Fall mood by picking out new items for my home and wardrobe. I am in love with black and brown items, and head over heels over everything marble and wood! The combination looks so lovely in my new home. Here are some of my favorites:
How was your week? Did you do anything special? I hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday and are looking forward to a great start to the week.
Your friend,
Isabel
