Some weekends just feel extra special, and this past one was certainly one for the books. We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming our dear friends, Karen, Paul, and their daughter Sophia to the North Georgia mountains. It was a weekend filled with laughter, great wine, competitive card games, and unforgettable meals- just the way we envisioned life at 1st Hole Haven when we first made it our home.

There’s something truly magical about reconnecting with old friends, sharing stories over a glass of wine at Tiger Mountain Vineyards and Stonewall Creek Vineyards, and enjoying the beauty of the mountains together. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, making our time at Currahee Club even more enjoyable.
Of course, no weekend gathering is complete without delicious food! To make our mornings easy, I prepared my Sausage Breakfast Casserole- a favorite that always guarantees a great start to the day. And, as tradition holds, we gathered around for our competitive gin rummy match, a game we’ve played together for years.
For dinner, we went all out with a surf and turf feast- Ron grilled New York Strip Steaks to perfection while I made Saucy Shrimp, a dish I can’t wait to share with you soon! There’s something about a home-cooked meal shared with friends that fills the heart just as much as it fills the belly.
This weekend reminded us once again that 1st Hole Haven is everything we dreamed it would be- a place to gather, to create memories, and to celebrate the friendships that mean the most.
Here’s to good friends, great food, and the joy of breaking bread together. May your week be filled with moments that make life extra special.
With love and good food,
Isabel
P.S. Stay tuned for my Saucy Shrimp recipe- I promise, it’s one you’ll want to make again and again!
