Banana Pudding Brownie
My easy chocolate banana brownie recipe is the perfect dessert with a combination of rich, chewy brownies topped with old-fashioned banana pudding! They’re super easy to make and ideal for birthdays, potlucks, or any special occasion.
Banana brownies have a chewy, fudge-like consistency just like a normal brownie, with an extra crunch on top from Nilla wafers.
Banana Brownies Ingredients
- Chocolate Brownie Mix
- Eggs
- Vegetable Oil
- Water
- Banana Pudding Mix
- Cream Cheese
- Milk
- Nilla Wafers
- Frosting
Banana Brownies Recipe Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ (or the temperature stated on the box of brownie mix). Grease an 8 by 8-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together brownie mix, 1 egg, vegetable oil, and water (or the ingredients called for to make your specific boxed brownie mix). Mix everything well.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together cream cheese, 1 egg, and milk. Mix well. Add the banana pudding mix to the cream cheese mixture, and whisk until smooth.
- Add about ⅔ of your brownie mix to your greased baking dish.
- Then add dollops of your banana pudding mix all over the brownie.
- Using a skewer or toothpick, swirl the banana pudding mixture into the brownie mixture, creating a marbling effect. Add the rest of your brownie mix and give it another swirl.
- Bake for 5 minutes longer than stated on your specific box of brownie mix. Ours took approximately 30 minutes to bake.
- Let brownies cool for 5-10 minutes. Top with chocolate frosting and crushed-up Nilla wafers. Serve and enjoy!
Pudding Brownies Tips
- After removing the brownies from the oven, allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into and frosting them!
- Add thinly sliced banana on top of your banana brownies for an even more banana flavor.
- Once brownies are completely cool, top them with chocolate frosting or cool whip for an even more decadent brownie recipe.
Banana Pudding Brownies FAQs
For banana pudding brownies you will want to use boxed banana pudding mix. Use your favorite kind.
For fudgier brownies, make sure you’re using a neutral oil (such as vegetable or canola oil) rather than butter. If you want less fudgy brownies, use butter instead of oil.
Storing Leftover Brownies
Once your brownies have been refrigerated they should be nice and set. Keep brownies at room temperature covered with plastic wrap while serving.
After you’ve had your fill, store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
These banana pudding brownies also freeze well! Store in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to 2 months and thaw in the refrigerator overnight to enjoy.
