Happy Sunday!
This Thanksgiving was truly special. Our entire family—four kids, two grandkids, and even the family pets—came together to celebrate.
A small hiccup with the dogs not getting along turned into a life lesson when my kids worked together to resolve it. It reminded me that Sunday Supper is about more than just food; it’s about building relationships, supporting each other, and cherishing these shared moments.
And the food? Wow! Everyone agreed this year’s turkey was the best we’ve ever made! We grilled it, and Reis suggested butter injections using my turkey injection recipe—what a game changer. It was the juiciest, most flavorful turkey ever.
The stuffing? Incredible. So much so that on Friday, we turned it into open-face waffle sandwiches. I’m still thinking about it – crispy stuffing waffles topped with mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, cranberry sauce, shredded cheese, and pimento cheese, too. It was the ultimate leftover creation.
Along with those, we had to make the infamous Shamus Shamwich. You can see the perfection of this masterpiece in the picture!
The past few days have filled my heart to the brim. Watching the grandkids play with their aunts and uncles, taking golf cart rides together to their favorite playground, visiting the aquarium, and enjoying lunch at Frenchy’s on Clearwater Beach. These simple yet profound moments mean so much. Supporting Frenchy’s felt especially important to us, knowing the last two hurricanes have walloped them.
But the most memorable part was seeing Rory and Aiden interact with my parents, their great-grandparents. Exceptional moments were created, ones I will treasure forever.
What special moments or meals brought your family closer this holiday season? I’d love to hear your stories!
