This week, I asked my family a simple question:
"What is your favorite dish that I cook for you?"
Their answers surprised me, warmed my heart, and most of all, reminded me that I have so many more recipes to share with all of you! Food is more than just nourishment—it’s tied to memories, to love, and to the joy of gathering around the table. And just as I’ve been sharing meals with my family for years, I can’t wait to continue sharing them with you.
Here’s what they said:
- Alexandra: Hands down, my meatballs. I think she could live on them!
- Shamus: My chicken marsala—thanks for the reminder, Shay! I need to add my easy recipe to the site.
- Rory & Aiden: Just like their mom! Nothing makes me happier than whipping up a batch of Sunday Sauce, with Rory loving the sausage and Aiden gobbling up all the pasta.
- Ronnie: No surprise here—Ronnie’s Favorite Chicken! Hands down the juiciest chicken you’ll ever taste. This was the reminder I needed to finally add it to the site!
- Julia: Ron’s grilled pork tenderloin and grilled sweet potatoes—two more must-add recipes!
- Reis: A true Sunday Supper favorite—grilled ribeye steak and fettuccine alfredo.
- Jordin: My easy and delicious pink pasta sauce—we just made a video for this one, and I can’t wait to share it! Stay tuned!
- Riley: A blast from the past! He reminded me of a pasta with sausage and spinach dish I made years ago but never added to the website—definitely a must-add!
- Hanna: My cheesesteak sliders—such a simple yet special dish that’s always a hit! And, we just updated this post with new images and a video. Check it out, make them, and let me know what you think!
Check out my new video for my Philly Cheesesteak Sliders below! Next Up: My recipe for pink pasta sauce! Such a family classic around here.
Before publishing this newsletter, I sent it to my kids to make sure it met their approval. Julia replied, "You forgot Pooh (Ron)! What's his favorite?" She was absolutely right! So, here’s Ron’s favorite: my chuck roast/pot roast over creamy mashed potatoes—a true comfort meal that always makes him happy. ❤️
Reading their answers made me realize just how much food connects us. It’s not just about what we cook—it’s about the love we put into it, the memories we create, and the traditions we build around the table.
I am so incredibly proud of my family—Alexandra, Ronnie, Reis, and Riley—and I feel so blessed that their amazing partners, Shamus, Julia, Jordin, and Hanna, have joined our journey. It brings me so much joy to know that they aren’t just living their own unique lives, but that they are happy and surrounded by love.
This past weekend, Ron and I took a little time for ourselves—something we don’t do often enough. Instead of cooking, we hopped on our golf cart, visited some of our favorite Tampa Bay spots, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. It reminded me that food is about so much more than what’s on the plate—it’s about who you share it with. Whether it’s family dinners, date nights, or time with friends, the most important ingredient is always love.
This week, I encourage you to ask your own family the same question: What’s their favorite meal that you cook? You might be surprised by their answers! And if you need inspiration, I promise—I have plenty of recipes coming your way soon. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Isabel
