Best Burrata Salad
This simple arugula salad is my favorite salad of all time. I make it for my family as often as I can and love to serve it at parties. You just can’t go wrong with a burrata appetizer!
There is just something about a fresh and simple dish made with great ingredients. It’s an amazingly creamy cheese to pair with flavors like prosciutto and arugula, and I love the lemon dressing.
You can serve this dish as an appetizer with warm crusty bread, or as a big main course salad with more arugula and sliced tomatoes.
So good! It was beautiful

What is burrata?
Burrata (Italian for “buttery”) is a soft cheese that’s similar to mozzarella in how it looks, but with a completely different taste and texture.
It has a smooth, pillowy white skin similar to mozzarella, but is so creamy inside. It literally oozes out when you slice it open!

Burrata Salad Recipe Tips
- Simple seasoning works best. I use Maldon sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, fresh lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil. Perfection!
- If you can get your hands on Maldon salt, it is so worth it. It’s amazing in this dish!
- Make sure your arugula is fresh. Crisp arugula is the best!
- Always use good quality extra virgin olive oil. It makes a huge difference in flavor!
- Bring your burrata to room temperature. This cheese should always be served at room temperature.

How to Serve Burrata Salad
Burrata cheese should be eaten fresh and at room temperature. It pairs well with flavors like olive oil, lemon, and salt. You can serve it on its own, but I like to serve it with a simple arugula salad and prosciutto.
It makes for a beautiful presentation when entertaining and is a beautiful centerpiece when used on a charcuterie board. The beautiful colors of green pink and white with a pop of yellow from the lemon are just stunning.
Note for how to serve burrata: this cheese should always be served as fresh as possible. Always add a squeeze of lemon!
Lemon Dressing for Burrata Appetizer
You can mix your own lemon vinaigrette for this simple arugula salad, but I personally like to just squeeze a bit of lemon juice on with the olive oil and seasoning. Fresh lemon and a good quality extra virgin olive oil make the most amazing lemon dressing!
