Happy Sunday!
It’s been a wonderfully quiet week here, and the weather in the North Georgia mountains has been nothing short of amazing! I had no idea November here could be this breathtaking.
Speaking of November, I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since we closed on our Georgia house! Time really does fly. We began renovations right after moving in, and after six months, it finally feels like us. I can’t wait to show you some before and after pictures—especially of the kitchen, which I absolutely love!
Transforming Our Kitchen
The Small Touches
The kitchen has truly become the heart of this home, and the large island is my favorite part. It’s a natural gathering space, and I love how it feels with everyone around it. We also carved out a cozy beverage station in a nook between the pantry and the kitchen—perfect for coffee, a beverage fridge, and, of course, wine and wine glasses!
I chose to paint the cabinets in Sherwin Williams accessible beige, which gives a soft, warm feel, and I paired it with a contrasting black island. For the countertops, we went with quartz, flowing seamlessly up the walls as a backsplash, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. One of my favorite details is the little shelf above the stove—sometimes it’s the small touches that make the biggest difference!
Our New Favorite Appliances
I’m thrilled with the LG appliances we chose. For a rental home, I wanted something beautiful but practical, and they’ve exceeded my expectations! The third rack on the dishwasher is a game-changer, and the oven even functions as an air fryer—a feature I use all the time. And I love the handle-free look of the refrigerator and dishwasher; they lend the kitchen a sleek, built-in feel that’s so satisfying.
If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen, this is a great time—most of these appliances are on sale!
A Splash of Style
One more bold choice I’m so happy with: our black sink on the island with a gold faucet and matching gold garbage disposal button. It’s such a stunning contrast with the light countertops, and it’s wonderfully low-maintenance—no smudges or spots! This was a perfect pick, both stylish and practical.
Making Memories
Ron and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to purchase this home. We already have countless memories here with our children, and I know there are many more to come. Just this week, while at the club, we looked out the window and saw a double rainbow—a magical moment! I’m even thinking of framing a photo of it for the dining room. What do you think? It might be the perfect start to our artwork collection for the house!
If you’ve ever wanted to experience North Georgia, here’s a link to our rental, First Hole Haven. We’re honored that the club chose it as the cover photo! The exterior colors we picked have made such a huge difference, and this home feels so welcoming and special to us.
Thank you for letting me share a bit of our journey with you. Here’s to more cozy gatherings and beautiful mountain views!
Things I Am Obsessing Over
These adorable Sam Edelman boots are back! I actually squealed when I saw them restocked in this gorgeous light suede color. They’re just too perfect for any outfit this season!
I had yet to use one before I received this diffuser as a gift. Now I am obsessed with them. The scent is so nice but not overpowering. I especially love to use it in our mountain house. I never leave out candles when it is rented, but now I can leave out diffusers and the house smells amazing when our guests arrive and I am not worried about a fire!
I recently purchased a Nest diffuser and it is amazing! I love the holiday scent, so perfect for this time of year.
You already know I love this 3-pack of belts! They’re perfect for adding that little extra style to any outfit, especially with the neutral colors. I seriously get more compliments on this sweater vest than anything I wear. I love this fun vest with jeans, dressy pants, joggers and more!
Having fun updating some inexpensive arrangements. I stopped at a local flower farm and instantly fell in love with the idea of adding dried wheat to my dried hydrangea arrangements. I love this look. The total cost was low since I grow my own hydrangeas and love drying them. I’m so sad when they stop growing but can’t wait until next year to have beautiful fresh blue and white ones again.
