Hi friends,
I can hardly contain my excitement as I sit down to write to you this week! Rory and Aiden have been spending time with us at our Georgia house, and what a week it has been. My heart is so full.
The highlight of our adventures? The community swimming pool! These two are absolutely obsessed, and it has been such a joy watching their swimming improve every single day. They’ve been having even more fun thanks to this little pack of pool toys I picked up — nothing fancy, but they’ve turned every swim into a game.
But the real story I have to share, the one we’ll be laughing about for days, happened at the Hartwell Wildlife Safari!
Picture this: we rented one of their cars to protect ours from any curious animals. It was incredible seeing so many beautiful creatures up close —gentle and fascinating. That is, until one very friendly llama, happily eating out of Ron’s hand, sneezed all over him. Oh, the mess!
Poor Ron was not amused, but the boys and I couldn’t stop laughing. Honestly, how many people can say they’ve been sneezed on by a llama?
These are the moments that remind me why I treasure Sunday Supper and time with family so deeply. It’s not about fancy plans or picture-perfect meals, it’s about the memories we make together around the table and in between.
As I write, I’m preparing for the whole family to arrive for a week of fun at the lake, pool, and golf course. My kitchen is already busy! I’ve got my big pot of Sunday Sauce simmering, filled with meatballs, chunks of pork, and sausage — a dish that always brings everyone together. And I’m bringing back a favorite I haven’t made in ages: Pork and Chorizo. I can’t wait to see their faces when they taste it again.
With love and gratitude,
Isabel
P.S. What’s your favorite family meal that brings everyone running to the table? I’d love to hear about it — comment below!
What I'm Loving for the 4th...
These are the things I’m loving to make the 4th extra fun, festive, and a little more fabulous! Click on the image below to check them out.
This week's meal plan...
- Sunday: Italian Meatballs and Sunday Gravy (save half of the meatballs)
- Monday: Meatball Sub
- Tuesday: Meatball Soup
- Wednesday: Honey Sriracha Meatballs + White Rice
- Thursday: Pan Fried Chicken Breast
- Friday: Chicken Caesar Salad
- Saturday: Fiesta Chicken
🔪 Prep Plan:
On your prep day, get a head start on the week by making a big batch of Italian meatballs and Sunday gravy. Once cooked and cooled, portion out half of the meatballs and sauce for Monday’s subs, Tuesday’s soup, and Wednesday’s sweet and spicy bowls. Store each portion in an airtight container in the fridge.
- Chop Your Toppings: Dice onions, mince garlic, slice green onions, and chop fresh parsley. Store each in airtight containers or zip-top bags, these will come in handy all week, especially for the meatball soup and Fiesta Chicken.
- Prep Your Rice: Cook a batch of white rice and store it in the fridge for Wednesday’s Honey Sriracha Meatballs and Saturday’s Fiesta Chicken. Reheat with a splash of water or a damp paper towel for quick, fluffy sides.
- Shred and Portion Cheese: Shred mozzarella and Parmesan for meatball subs and soup, and portion it into small containers. If you're using cheddar or Mexican blend for Fiesta Chicken, go ahead and prep that too!
- Marinate Your Chicken: For Thursday and Friday, season or marinate your chicken breasts ahead of time—store them in the fridge or freezer so they're ready to pan-fry or slice into a Caesar salad without extra steps.
Missed a week? Check out my last blog post, too!
