I know, I know! We just returned from our Georgia house on Sunday, but by Thursday, the mountain air was calling us out there again. We had renovations that needed our attention, and furniture deliveries, but we were thrilled to be heading back to North Georgia.
We decided the inside of the house was close to being done, and it was time to introduce Kev and Lip to the mountains. We packed everyone in the car and headed back up there. Kev usually does not like being in the car and cries most of the way, but to our surprise, he was very good after the first 45 minutes for the entire 8 hour drive!
(But, do you have any tips for traveling with dogs? Please share them with me.)
The drive took longer than usual because of stopping with the boys, but it was so worth it. Kev and Lip love the mountains as much as we do! Our daily walks kick my butt with those mountains; I joked with Ron that I had better have the best legs soon. It’s very different from our Florida walks… your muscles really feel it in the mountains!
Unexpectedly, Riley and Hanna visited us before he goes off to start his new job! Seeing them was such a treat, and they loved coming by the house for the first time. Riley and Ron had a blast golfing. It was reassuring that we’d made the right decision when purchasing this home.
Kev and Lip had so much fun with their first visitor, Marlow. Their favorite part was the stairs! Florida dogs have no idea what stairs are, and they are obsessed.
It was a simple weekend filled with love. We dined at the club and enjoyed our two favorite snacks: pepperoni pizza dip and a fun charcuterie board. You know us, we’re obsessed with these recipes! What are your favorite snacks when hanging out with family and friends?
I can’t wait for the rest of our family to come and visit us in the mountain house. Being here has made me really appreciate the simple things in life.
Enjoy your week, my friends!
