Happy Sunday,
This time of year always stirs up something special in me. It’s not just the twinkle lights, the cozy sweaters, or even the recipes that have been passed down and perfected over the years… it’s the feeling. The excitement. The knowing that in just a few days, my family will gather around the table and create the kind of memories that stay with us forever.

But first… I’m in that delicious place of dreaming up the menu.
And oh my goodness — this year, I’m torn!
Do I stick with my beloved holiday classics, the dishes that make my kids’ faces light up the second they smell them?
- My comforting Italian Wedding Soup, simmered low and slow, the way I’ve made it for years.
- Or the velvety Shrimp Bisque that always feels like a warm hug in a bowl!
- Do I bring out a showstopper like a Prime Rib or perfectly tender Beef Tenderloin?

And then there are the appetizers…
Do we kick things off with my famous Saucy Shrimp that disappears faster than I can set it down?
Or the Burrata Board that has quickly become a family favorite?
Or… do we shake things up with something brand new?

And let’s talk about sides.
My kids beg for my make-ahead Scalloped Potatoes every single year. It’s practically a holiday requirement at this point! But part of me wonders… do I go back to the classic, creamy Mashed Potatoes that feel like childhood in a bowl?

This is the magic of the season for me — the decisions, the possibilities, the joy of planning a meal that becomes a memory.
Because yes… the food matters. But what matters most is what happens around the table:
The laughter, the stories, the “please pass the rolls,” the clinking glasses, and the simple moments of togetherness that remind me why I do what I do.
No matter what I cook, I know one thing for sure:
This holiday will bring us right back to the heart of why Sunday Supper began — family, connection, love, and the pure joy of gathering together.
Now tell me... what are you making this holiday? Are you going traditional or trying something new?
Isabel
