I love this time of year. Not only do we have our anniversary, but Reis's birthday is on the same day, and Fall is almost here!
Yes, Reis snuck into our lives at 12:03 AM on our anniversary 25 years ago. Because we celebrate Reis's birthday on the same day, we rarely do anything for our anniversary! But this year, we received the best gift. We had a follow-up visit with Ron's thoracic surgeon, who told us that Ron is healing well, his x-ray looks good, and best of all: he's done with him! He can go about his life with no restrictions. To say we're relieved would be the understatement of the year!
I looked at the doctor and told him, "No offense, but I hope we never see you again!"
Many of you have been here for a long time, and know that Ron and I met on our first day of school freshman year. Look at us babies!

My favorite thing about Ron is his sense of humor. He makes me laugh every single day. He wakes up humming every morning, and starts picking on me as soon as he opens his eyes.
Life has been such a journey. From raising our four crazy kids to the miracle of becoming grandparents, I wouldn't change a thing. We're surrounded by so much love, and feel so incredibly blessed to enjoy our lives together.
It goes without saying, I'm so grateful to have received this great news, and couldn't wait to share it with you.
What do you think we had for dinner this week? Ron is an easy-peasy meat and potatoes kind of guy, so what else could it be but his favorite recipe for chuck roast? There is just something about the simple things in life! But, seriously, this recipe is amazing.
How was your week? Did you do anything special, or try any new foods? I would love to hear about it.
Your friend,
Isabel
