Pork Chops in Instant Pot
Pork chops are a frequent dinner for my household, so I love coming up with new pork chop recipes to share with my family. This recipe for pork chops in the Instant Pot is one of their favorites!
It’s one of my favorites to make for them, too. Instead of dealing with splattered grease, you can put pork chops in the Instant Pot for a mess-free easy dinner! Plus, they’re ready to eat in just 30 minutes, so they’re perfect if you need dinner on the table quickly.
Instant Pot pork chops come out perfectly juicy and tender every time, with such great flavor. They go with just about every side dish, especially creamy mashed potatoes and green beans (the best!).
Made this tonight. It was a great hit! Very tender and tasty.

Pork Chops in Pressure Cooker
- Pat pork chops dry and season generously with pork chop seasoning on all sides.
- Set Instant Pot to saute mode. Once hot, add in butter and allow to melt. Add in pork chops and brown on both sides, approximately 2 minutes on each side.
- Remove pork chops and set them aside. Press cancel on your Instant Pot to stop the sauté feature.
- Add chicken broth to your pot, and using a wooden spoon deglaze the bits of pork from the bottom of the pot.
- Add in Worcestershire sauce and mix well.
- Place your pork chops back inside the Instant Pot and secure the lid. Pressure cook for 7 minutes. When 7 minutes is up, allow pressure to naturally release on its own, about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes quick release.
- Set pork chops aside to rest on a serving dish. In a small bowl combine cornstarch and water and mix well. Add slurry into the remaining liquid inside your Instant Pot. Give a good mixing, and let thicken for about 5 minutes.
- Serve gravy over pork chops, and enjoy!
Pork Chop Instant Pot Tips
- Sear pork chops: Searing pork chops for a few minutes until golden prevents them from drying out while cooking. This helps lock in the moisture and keeps the pork chops juicy and tender!
- Bone-in pork chops: This recipe can also use bone-in pork chops. I recommend adding 2 minutes to the cooking time.
- Frozen pork chops: You won’t be able to get a good sear on your pork chops first if you use frozen pork chops, but you can pressure cook them as you normally would. Add 2 minutes of extra cooking time.
Can You Overcook Pork Chops in the Instant Pot?
Yes, you can! Here are my best tips for never overcooking pork chops in the instant pot:
- Follow recommended cooking times closely.
- Use a quick-release method to stop cooking promptly.
- Check the thickness of the pork chops and adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach a safe internal temperature without overcooking (145°F or 63°C).
- Always make sure you cook instant pot pork chops with a liquid.

I had only 2 pork chops so I halved the spices, fried some onion and thinly sliced a carrot. Realized I had leftover mashed potatoes and put that in a bowl (covered with aluminum foil) and had a lot of gravy for them 😋 Dinner was ready, and it wasn’t a casserole.

Awesome! I am so happy you enjoyed it, Lynda! This sounds like it was a fantastic dinner.

Awesome recipe! My Sin and myself love it and he is picky. Not sure if 2 Tablespoons of crushed red pepper is necessary. I used 1 and it still has that zing. Although I used 1 Tablespoon of spicy Hungarian paprika and 2 regular Tablespoons of regular paprika. All in all, have fun with this recipe. It won’t disappoint!

Best pork chops ever! I’ve never had good luck with pork chops. They always come out dry and tough. Finally! A recipe that works. Delicious sauce. I LOVE how each step includes the ingredients for that step so I don’t have to keep scrolling up and down. Great idea! Thank you!
