Using just 6 simple ingredients, you can make garlic pork chops in 5 simple steps. They take just 30 minutes from start to finish for a crispy outer layer and juicy, tender inside you will surely find irresistible.
And the glaze? Trust me when I say you’re going to want to put it on everything – from the pork chops to vegetables on the side, and more, including another protein, like chicken! You have to try my Honey Glazed Ham, too!

- Add olive oil to a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Once hot and the oil is shimmering, add the pork chops.
- Cook until slightly browned on both sides, with an internal temperature of 145°F as read by an internal meat thermometer. This takes about 5-6 minutes per side.
- Remove the pork chops from the pan and set aside to rest for 5 minutes. While the pork chops rest, add lemon juice, honey, soy sauce, and garlic to the skillet. Let simmer for 5 minutes, occasionally stirring.
- Add pork chops back to the skillet and let simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
- Serve warm, and enjoy!
Honey Garlic Pork Chops Recipe Tips
- If you’re worried about overcooking your pork chops, make sure to use a meat thermometer.
- If you prefer, you can also skip simmering the pork chops in the sauce and simply pour the sauce over the pork chops – so long as they have reached 145°F internally.
- You can use bone-in pork chops or boneless pork chops: either way works just fine.
- You won’t need any additional salt or black pepper for this recipe.
- You can use either olive oil or avocado oil to cook the pork chops, but don’t use butter. It burns too quickly.
- For the most tender pork, slice pork chops thinly.
Internal Temperature for Pork Chops
Cut | Internal Temperature |
---|---|
Boneless Pork Chops | 145°F |
Bone-in Pork Chops | 145°F |
Both bone-in and boneless pork chops require an internal temperature of 145°F to be cooked through. Although the standard used to be higher, you are over-cooking your pork if you cook it further than 145°F.
I always use an internal meat thermometer and this guide for the perfect pork chop temperature.
Honey Glazed Pork Chops FAQs
You can easily make honey glazed pork chops in the oven, if you prefer, by following my Pan Seared Pork Chops recipe – it is mostly baked, and you can prepare the sauce the same way in the skillet after removing it from the oven.
Serve garlic glazed pork chops with your usual favorite side dishes for pork – like in a rice bowl or with homemade rice-a-roni, with a side of potatoes, a simple salad, or roast vegetables, or even as part of a stir-fry with noodles, veggies, and green onions. The flavor makes this a versatile dish!
