My Homemade Shake and Bake Pork Chops recipe is a game-changer! With a perfect balance of seasonings, the combination of Italian bread crumbs, Parmesan, and a hint of paprika creates a deliciously crispy coating with great flavor. A touch of brown sugar and onion powder adds just the right amount of sweetness and depth of flavor to the pork chops.

Shake and Bake Pork Chops Ingredients
- Pork Chops: For shake and bake pork chops, I recommend using 1-inch thick boneless pork chops. Bone-in pork chops and thicker pork chops take longer to cook. Always use a meat thermometer when cooking pork chops to avoid under- or over-cooking them.
- Avocado Oil: You can also use light olive oil or extra virgin olive oil.
- Italian Bread Crumbs: You could use unseasoned bread crumbs, but I recommend using Italian if possible.
- Parmesan: Freshly grated parmesan or pecorino romano creates a great flavor and texture for the shake and bake mix.
- Seasoning: The seasoning is a mix of paprika, light brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried parsley, kosher salt, and black pepper. You can also use flaky sea salt.
- Parsley: Freshly chopped parsley adds color and vibrant flavor to the dish, but you can leave it out if you prefer.
How to Make Shake and Bake Pork Chops from Scratch
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Cut off any excess fat from the pork chops, then use a pastry brush to coat the pork chops with the oil. Set aside.
Step 2
Add the remaining ingredients, except the parsley, to a zip-top bag. Close the bag and shake until everything is combined.
Step 3
Place the pork chops one at a time in the bag. Close the bag tightly. Shake until the pork chop is coated, then repeat with one pork chop at a time to coat all pork chops.
Step 4
Place the pork chop on a wire rack on a baking sheet. Place a piece of parchment paper on the baking sheet for easy clean up.
Repeat for each pork chop.
Step 5
Bake shake and bake pork chops for 22-24 minutes or until you reach an internal temperature of 145°F as read by a meat thermometer (see my pork temps guide). Top with fresh parsley and enjoy!

FAQ
If your pork chops turned out soggy, you may have used too much oil. They should be crisp and not soggy. Make sure to use a sheet with a rack, too, so the pork chops have air circulating all of the way around them.
