    Best Fruit Pizza Recipe

Whenever I think summer, I think watermelon! There’s nothing quite like thirst-quenching watermelon on a hot sunny day. Whether I cut my watermelon into wedges, sticks, or cubes for my favorite watermelon salad, it’s always been a staple in my house!

While a slice of watermelon is scrumptious, it’s fun to dress it up as a mini fruit pizza with yogurt as the sauce. It makes a perfect fruity and finger-friendly appetizer dressed up with all your favorite fruits, like strawberries, cherries, raspberries, and blueberries.

My family loves this watermelon pizza recipe during the summer to cool down. It makes a refreshing treat you won’t feel any guilt for enjoying plenty of – after all, it only uses fresh fruit and yogurt!

    Watermelon Pizza Ingredients

    • watermelon
    • coconut yogurt
    • strawberries
    • cherries (optional)
    • raspberries
    • blueberries
    • dried coconut (optional)
    • Any of your favorite fruits work well

    How to Make Watermelon Pizza

    1. Start by slicing watermelon using a sharp knife. Cut off a slice of the watermelon about 2 to 3 inches thick, then cut it into 6 wedges.

    2. Remove the stems from your strawberries and cut them in half. Set them aside.
    3. Using a spoon or a spatula, spread a layer of coconut yogurt around the inside of each watermelon slice. Try to leave a bit of space at the top near the rind to look like a crust.

    4. Garnish watermelon with a layer of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and blueberries as you please.
    5. To finish sprinkle some dried coconut on the top of your Watermelon pizza. This is optional, but I love the flavor it adds. Serve immediately and enjoy!

    Fruit Pizza Recipe Tips

    • Refrain from using fruits that will brown on top of your pizza, like bananas or apples.
    • I prefer to use seedless watermelons for best results. Watermelons come in different varieties, so pick the one that best suits you.
    • Although I use coconut yogurt, you can use any variety of yogurt you like best.

    Watermelon Pizza FAQs

    What is watermelon pizza?

Watermelon pizza is a wholesome dessert pizza recipe topped with yogurt and fresh fruit of your choice. There is no baking or cooking involved, so it takes just minutes to make!

What kind of watermelon do you need for fruit pizza?

A classic, seedless watermelon works best for making fruit pizza. I like to use a small watermelon to cut into individual pizza sizes for my family. If you don’t mind eating the seeds, you can use watermelon with seeds.

What other fruits would work on a dessert pizza?

Other fruits to try on your dessert pizza are oranges, honeydew, grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple, kiwi, mango, and blackberries. Mix it up by using your favorite fruits and find the combination you love best!

How to Find the Best Watermelon

    • Locate the field spot: this is where the watermelon rested on the ground while growing; the spot should be large and yellow in color.
    • Look for sugar spots: small black spots indicate sugar is seeping out. Avoid any watermelon with these spots.
    • Go for a dull appearance: you actually don’t want to pick a watermelon that is shiny on the outside; this indicates the watermelon is unripe.
    • Pick a heavy melon: the heavier the watermelon, the better!
    • Uniform shape: look for a round or oval-shaped watermelon with a hard exterior and no irregular bumps.
