Dear Sunday Supper Family,
Another week, another joyful opportunity to welcome our Florida friends to our North Georgia home, and what a blast we had! There is something so special about sharing our peaceful cottage on the Currahee golf course and beautiful Lake Hartwell with the people we love. Every time friends visit, we are reminded exactly why we made this investment — it’s not just a home, it’s a place to create lasting memories.
Of course, we love to spoil our guests! We kicked things off with a big, comforting Portuguese meal of Pork and Chouriço, a true crowd-pleaser. The best part? It made the most delicious leftovers. And if you know me, you know that’s the secret to relaxed entertaining: one meal, two (or three!) amazing experiences.
Our mornings started with a breakfast buffet starring my sausage breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, and yogurt parfaits. It’s the kind of setup that lets everyone eat when they’re ready and keeps mornings low-stress and filled with smiles.
Another highlight? Our friends surprised us with four beautiful tomahawk steaks — and let me tell you, they were out-of-this-world delicious. We kept it simple with baked potatoes and a fresh salad. Because truly, the best meals don’t have to be fancy. Simple, quality ingredients shared with good company will always win.
We soaked up the best of summer with boat time on Lake Hartwell, floated the afternoon away in the pool, and of course, played lots of golf. We spent a glorious day winery-hopping, with a lovely lunch at Wolf Mountain Vineyards and dinner at Monteluce Winery — both absolutely breathtaking. Introducing our friends to the North Georgia wine scene never gets old!
We ended the night with one of our favorite traditions: a good, old-fashioned (and very competitive) game of Sequence. So many laughs, maybe a little friendly banter, and memories we’ll cherish for years to come.
This visit reminded me once again that our home here isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling. A chance to slow down, gather around the table, and connect with the people who matter most. It fills my heart to share it.
Wishing you a week filled with laughter, good food, and meaningful connection.
With love and gratitude,
Isabel
PS: If you’re looking for a stress-free way to serve breakfast to a crowd, my sausage breakfast casserole is the way to go! I also have a low-carb version coming soon, stay tuned.
This week's meal plan...
- Sunday: Big Batch of Air Fryer Pork Chops
- Monday: Pork Chop Sandwich (with leftover pork)
- Tuesday: Pork Chop Salad (replace chicken for leftover pork)
- Wednesday: Pork Fried Rice (with leftover pork)
- Thursday: Pork Chop Tacos (with leftover pork)
- Friday: Grilled Shrimp
- Saturday: Shrimp Burrata Pasta (with leftover shrimp)
🔪 Prep Plan:
On your prep day, cook your big batch of air fryer pork chops!
Once cooked and cooled, slice or chop the pork and portion it out for Monday’s pork chop sandwiches, Tuesday’s pork chop salad, Wednesday’s pork fried rice, and Thursday’s pork chop tacos. Store each portion in an airtight container in the fridge.
The Best Find for My Kitchen
I’ve been loving the kitchen sink in the Georgia house. The built-in cutting board and drying rack fit perfectly into the groove, and the whole setup has been so practical and easy to use. I might even like it more than the one in Florida, and it costs a fraction of the price.
Missed a week? Check out my last blog post, too!
