Oven Baked Pork Chops
Pork Chops are always at the top of my list when it comes to making an easy dinner the whole family is going to love, especially my Baked Pork Chops! They’re simple to make and ready in under 30 minutes. These are the most flavorful pork chops! Cleanup is easy, too!
I love breading these oven pork chops with Parmesan and a mixture of breadcrumbs and panko, but one of the best parts about this recipe is you can customize it however you like. I also love that there is no oil in this recipe, not even olive oil. It’s a healthy recipe.
Serve breaded pork loin chops with your favorite sauce or with pork gravy and mashed potatoes – it’s the best!
Baked Pork Chops Recipes Ingredients
- Bone-in pork chops, at least 1-inch thick
- Italian panko breadcrumbs
- Italian breadcrumbs
- Parmesan cheese
- Garlic powder
- Eggs
Baked Pork Chops Recipe
- Preheat your oven to 450℉ and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. In a small bowl combine both types of breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese, and mix well.
- Using a fork, whisk the eggs into a bowl large enough to dip each of the pork chops.
- Dip each pork chop at least 1 inch thick in the egg mixture until well coated on all sides.
- Place in the breadcrumb mixture and make sure to completely cover each pork chop with the breadcrumbs.
- Place breaded pork chop on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the internal temperature of the pork chops is 145℉, approximately 20 minutes depending on the thickness of your pork chops.
- Let chops rest for 5-10 minutes on paper towels on a plate. Serve and enjoy the flavor of the most tender pork chops!
Note: You do not need to use salt because the bread crumbs already have sodium in them. However, you may add a bit of additional salt and black pepper if desired.
I like to serve this recipe with pork gravy. It is the ultimate Southern pork chop recipe!
Pork Chop in the Oven Temperature
I recommend always using an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature and using this Pork Temperature Chart for best results.
Oven Pork Chops (Boneless) | 1-inch thickness or thinner pork chops | 145°F | 7 minutes per ½-inch thickness at 400°F |
Oven Pork Chops (Bone-in) | 1.5 inches thick or thick pork chops | 145°F | 20-22 minutes at 400°F |
Recipe for Baked Pork Chops Tips
- Make sure to bake your pork chops at a high temp. This helps caramelize your pork chops and lock in their juices.
- Don’t overcook your pork chops; once they reach an internal temperature between 145℉ and 150℉ as read by a meat thermometer, take them out of the oven.
- Let your pork chops rest at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before slicing to ensure moist, juicy pork chops!
- My family loves bone-in pork chops, but you can easily make this recipe with boneless pork chops.
- This recipe also works well when made with chicken breast.
Baked Pork Chops FAQs
Breaded pork chops should be cooked at a high temperate such as 450℉. Baking pork chops at a high temperature helps caramelize the breading on your pork chops, and locks in moisture and juices.
Bake bone-in breaded pork chops until the internal temperature reads 145℉ with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the pork chop. This takes approximately 20 minutes at 450℉ depending on the thickness of your pork chops.
I always bake pork chops in the oven uncovered because I love a crispy breaded pork chop.

What can I use instead of breadcrumbs?
Isabel Laessig says
Hi Amy! You could use a crushed, salty treat like pork rinds, pretzels, crackers or potato chips. I hope this helps!
Jason says
Snyder’s mustard pretzel pieces instead of panko worked unbelievable when I was in a pinch, very happy change ,original recipe still best.
