Garlic Butter Potatoes
They are a perfect addition to a steak dinner or a holiday prime rib. You might even like them better than the beef! In fact… we know you will! They are that good.
The best part is, garlic butter potatoes are super easy to prepare: just halve the potatoes, season them, and roast. Done!
What are creamer potatoes?
They are a special variety of potatoes that’s grown to be small! In fact, they are also called baby potatoes. They come in a variety of colors similar to fingerling potatoes and cook quickly thanks to their tiny size.
What we love most about these baby potatoes is that they are always so smooth and delicious – creamer is a good name for them, for how creamy they are!
There’s no need to peel them, either! The skin is soft and smooth, and when you’re making garlic butter potatoes roasted in the oven, it gives them that perfect crisp.
Baby Potato Recipes
- Easy Foil Pack Potatoes – you can make these on the grill or in the oven!
- Smothered Potatoes and Sausage – made in a Dutch Oven!
- Grilled Potatoes
- Potatoes and Chorizo
You can use creamer potatoes for all kinds of dishes, from potato soup, to stew, to potato salad.
If you like your mashed potatoes with a little skin left in, baby potatoes are perfect to use because the skin is so soft!
Best Way to Store Potatoes
- Make sure your little potatoes are free of any blemishes; those will not last as long.
- Add them to a mesh or paper bag, or a cardboard box, so they can breathe well. Do not store them in plastic bags.
- Store in a cool location for best results, but do not store potatoes in the fridge.
Don’t wash your baby potatoes until you’re ready to cook with them, and make sure not to store them with other vegetables or fruit.
Uncooked garlic butter potatoes last for about 2 weeks when stored correctly.
Baked Small Potatoes Recipe Tips:
- Make sure the potatoes are spread out on the baking sheet or skillet so they cook evenly.
- Do not flip them. Let them sit as they roast – this ensures the crispiest garlic butter potatoes!
- Toss well to evenly coat them with the garlic butter sauce. You want that delicious sauce all over them. Trust me!
