Baked Pork Chop Recipe

Pork chop recipes are always at the top of my list when it comes to making an easy dinner the whole family is going to love, especially my Oven Baked Pork Chops! They're simple to make and ready in under 30 minutes. These are the most flavorful pork chops in the oven, and cleanup is easy, too!

I love breading these baked pork chops with Parmesan and a mixture of breadcrumbs and panko, but one of the best parts about this recipe is you can customize it however you like. As a bonus, it's more wholesome than other pork chop recipes because no oil is used.

Serve breaded pork chops with your favorite sauce or with classic pork gravy and mashed potatoes - it is the ultimate Southern pork chop recipe this way!

Oven Baked Pork Chops Ingredients

• Bone-in pork chops, at least 1-inch thick
• Italian panko breadcrumbs
• Italian breadcrumbs
• Parmesan cheese
• Garlic powder
• Eggs

Recipe for Baked Pork Chops

1. Preheat your oven to 450℉ and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. In a small bowl combine both types of breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese, and mix well.
2. Using a fork, whisk the eggs into a bowl large enough to dip each of the pork chops.
3. Dip each pork chop at least 1 inch thick in the egg mixture until well coated on all sides.
4. Place in the breadcrumb mixture and make sure to completely cover each pork chop with the breadcrumbs.
5. Place breaded pork chop on a greased baking sheet.
6. Bake until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and the internal temperature of the pork chops is 145℉, approximately 20 minutes depending on the thickness of your pork chops.
7. Let chops rest for 5-10 minutes on paper towels on a plate. Serve and enjoy the flavor of the most tender pork chops!

Note: You do not need to use salt because the breadcrumbs already contain salt. However, you may add a bit of additional salt and black pepper if desired. I recommend tasting first.

Baked Pork Chops Recipes Tips

• Make sure to bake your pork chops at a high temp. This helps caramelize your pork chops and lock in their juices.
• Don't overcook your pork chops; once they reach an internal temperature between 145℉ and 150℉ as read by a meat thermometer, take them out of the oven.
• Let your pork chops rest at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before slicing to ensure moist, juicy pork chops!
• My family loves bone-in pork chops, but you can easily make this recipe with boneless pork chops.
• Do not use thinner pork chops in this recipe. Because pork chops are a lean cut, they will get tough easily. Thick pork chops work best.
• This recipe also works well when made for roasted chicken breast.

Always use an instant read thermometer. Regardless of the cooking method, both bone-in and boneless pork chops require an internal temperature of 145°F to be cooked through. Although the standard used to be higher, you are over-cooking your pork if you cook it further than 145°F.

Bake bone-in breaded pork chops until the internal temperature reads 145℉ with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the pork chop. This takes approximately 20 minutes at 450℉ depending on the thickness of your pork chops.

Bake boneless breaded pork chops until the internal temperature reaches 145℉ as read by a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the meat. Bake for about 7 minutes per ½-inch thickness at 400°F (for example, about 14 minutes for 1-inch thick boneless pork chops).

How to Store Baked Breaded Pork Chops

1. Cooling: Allow the cooked breaded pork chops to cool to room temperature. This helps prevent condensation inside the storage container, which can make the breading soggy.
2. Wrap individually: Wrap each pork chop individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. This will help prevent moisture from escaping and keep the breading crispy.
3. Place in an airtight container: After wrapping, place the individually wrapped pork chops in an airtight container or a resealable freezer bag. Make sure to remove as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn.
4. Label and date: If you plan to store them in the freezer for an extended period, label the container or bag with the date to keep track of their freshness.
