    What is milk bar pie?

Milk Bar Pie is a favorite from the Milk Bar Store, also known as Milk Bar Crack Pie or Momofuku Milk Bar® Crack Pie. It’s a dense, gooey pie, similar to Chess pie or ooey gooey butter cake, that combines sweet and salty with an oat crust.

It’s such a unique pie recipe that there’s nothing quite like these Milk Bar Pie Bars! Once you try it, you’re going to want to make it all of the time. This really is one of the best easy dessert recipes with few ingredients and simple steps!

    Milk Bar Pie Squares Ingredients

This milk bar pie squares recipe is a variation from the original milk bar pie recipe, and it is so flavorful! The best part is, the ingredients are all super easy to find – they are just staple baking ingredients!

I’ve included a very easy pie crust recipe option. Below are the ingredients to make milk bar pie squares, including the filling and pie crust.

The easy pie crust recipe you can make easily with oatmeal cookie mix from a box – you’ll find the ingredients you need for preparing the mix next to it in the ingredients list!

    Easy Milk Bar Pie Recipe

    • ¾ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup brown sugar
    • 2 Tbsp. nonfat milk powder
    • ¼ tsp. salt
    • ½ cup unsalted butter – softened
    • â…“ cup heavy cream
    • 4 egg yolks
    • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
    • 2 Tbsp. corn starch
    • powdered sugar

    Easy Pie Crust Recipe

    • 1 package oatmeal cookie mix (17.5 oz) – you will need 1 stick of butter, 1 Tbsp. water, and 1 egg for making the cookie mix
    • 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter – softened
    • 1 ½ Tbsp. brown sugar

How to Make Milk Bar Chess Pie

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
    2. Mix the oatmeal cookie mix: Stir 1 stick softened butter, 1 Tbsp. water, and 1 egg in a medium bowl. Stir in the cookie mix until you have a stiff dough.
    3. Press the dough flat into a greased 9×13″ baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until baked through. Remove from the oven.

    4. Let the oatmeal cookies cool completely, then crumble them. Add 2 cups of the crumbled cookie mix with 3 tablespoons of softened butter and 1 ½ tablespoon brown sugar to a food processor, and process until you have a fine crumble.

    5. Grease an 8×8″ baking dish and press the oatmeal crumble mix into the bottom of the pan.

    6. In a large bowl, whisk together ¾ cup granulated sugar, ½ cup brown sugar, 2 Tbsp. nonfat milk powder, ¼ tsp. salt, ½ cup unsalted softened butter, ⅓ cup heavy cream, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, and 2 Tbsp. corn starch until well-combined.
    7. Pour the pie filling mixture over the oatmeal crust. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.

    8. Reduce heat down to 325°F and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the edges are set and the center is almost set. The center will be slightly jiggly.

    9. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature. Refrigerate overnight before serving.
    10. When ready to serve, sprinkle with powdered sugar, cut into square bars, and enjoy!

How long is milk bar pie good for?

Refrigerate milk bar pie squares in an air-tight container, and they can last up to two weeks – but trust me, they won’t last that long!

These little pie squares are so delicious, I can guarantee you they’ll be gone within a day or two. They’re really that good!

Can you freeze milk bar pie squares?

Yes! You can freeze the bars overnight before serving, and then also freeze them to store instead of refrigerating.

This helps the filling become even denser for the pie squares. If storing in the freezer, use an air-tight container and freeze for up to three weeks.

What to Serve with Milk Bar Pie Squares

    • Sweet and creamy cheesecake ice cream – Red White and Blue Popsicles
    • Irresistible, warm, and tasty Easy Butterscotch Sauce
    • Banana Pudding Brownies
    • Plain vanilla ice cream
    • A glass of milk

Milk bar pie squares are an irresistibly easy dessert recipe with few ingredients and simple steps! Serve a plate of these, and they’ll be gone in no time – they’re that delicious.

I take these pie squares to almost every special occasion. People LOVE them! You’ll have people asking you for the recipe all over the place if you serve them these.
