How to Make Pizza Rolls
For full ingredient measurements written into the instructions, see the recipe card below.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F degrees. Carefully roll out the pizza crust onto a flat surface. Evenly spread cream cheese onto the pizza crust. Layer pizza sauce on top of the cream cheese. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and the remaining mozzarella. Season with Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Evenly layer with pepperoni.
- Carefully roll pizza crust into a tight log.
- Using floss, serrated knife, or pizza cutter, slice each roll into 1-inch sections.
- Brush each pizza roll with garlic butter. Transfer pizza rolls onto a greased baking dish and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve immediately with marinara or ranch for dipping! Enjoy!
Tips for Making Pizza Rolls
- Using floss really makes cutting the pizza slices easy and creates clean slices. If you don't have floss, use a serrated knife and wet it between each cut for clean, easy slices.
- You can customize this pizza roll recipe however you like. I recommend using cream cheese as a sauce base, then customizing it with whatever sauces and toppings you enjoy most! It would be amazing with garlic white sauce and spinach like a Bianca pizza.
- Have fun and experiment with all your favorite pizza toppings

What to Serve with Pizza Rolls
FAQ
Pizza rolls are simple to make. To make them, you roll out a sheet of refrigerator pizza dough, then fill it with pizza ingredients. Tightly roll it into a log, then slice it into 1-inch sections. Finally, bake.
Pizza rolls are usually baked, not fried. You can make them in a traditional oven, or air fry them, depending on your preference. Although you could technically fry pizza rolls in oil, baking is easy, cleaner, and more wholesome.
Topping Variations
I love to experiment with all my favorite toppings. Some of my other favorites to add are pineapple, bell peppers, olives, ham and sausage.
Sauce Variations
- Marinara Sauce - the most delicious tomato sauce
- Garlic White Sauce - I love this with spinach and chicken sausage on a pizza
- Homemade BBQ Sauce - make it a BBQ chicken pizza!
- Buffalo Sauce - make it a buffalo chicken pizza!
- Pesto Sauce - pesto pizza is delicious!
How to Store Homemade Pizza Rolls
Store pizza rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F until heated through, or microwave to reheat.
How to Freeze Homemade Pizza Rolls
This pizza roll recipe is amazing for making ahead of time! Prepare the recipe as instructed, and bake. Allow to cool, then add to the freezer in an airtight freezer-safe container. Store for up to 3 months.
To reheat, bake straight out of the freezer in an oven preheated to 350°F for 30 minutes or until heated through and golden brown.
Pepperoni Pizza Rolls
This homemade pizza rolls recipe combines all the flavors you love in a classic pizza recipe, rolled up and baked into pinwheel-style pizzas.
Not only are these homemade pizza rolls completely delicious, but they're easy to make, too! All you need is refrigerator pizza dough and some classic pizza ingredients.
The best part of all is how customizable pizza rolls are. You can add your favorite pizza ingredients or completely change the fillings to your liking. Enjoy!
