Boneless Turkey Breast Ingredients
- Boneless Turkey Breast: You will need a boneless turkey breast that is approximately 2.5 to 3 pounds.
- Butter: I use unsalted butter, but you can also use salted butter. Just adjust the amount of salt you're using for the turkey rub.
- Turkey Rub: My turkey rub uses paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, chicken flavor bouillon, sugar, and dry mustard.
- Carrots: I recommend using whole carrots you've peeled and sliced yourself, and not baby carrots.
- Celery: Stalks cut into slices.
- Turkey Stock: You can also use chicken stock. I like to make my own stock with chicken bones (or turkey bones), and recommend it!
- Parsley: Optional, for garnish.
- Garlic Butter: Optional, but so good! Use my recipe for garlic butter.
- Fresh Rosemary: Optional, for garnish.
Another great choice for seasoning is my Rosemary Garlic Salt mix.
Turkey Breast Roast
As you all know, we have a large family, so on Thanksgiving, I usually make a large garlic butter turkey, which is our favorite! My family loves turkey, so I have been known to make turkey all throughout the year. Whether you are like me or have a smaller family gathering for the holidays, this is the most delectable, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside turkey you will ever make.
I am not kidding when I tell you we are a turkey family. We are all obsessed with all the recipes I have tested over the years on my family of taste testers. We love crispy grilled turkey, turkey on the smoker, dry-rubbed turkey, the crispiest deep fry turkey, turkey in the air fryer, sous vide turkey breast, I even make the most amazing turkey breast in the instant pot when I am short on time.
Oh, you haven't lived until you try my Popeyes Cajun Turkey! To say I am a turkey expert is an understatement!

You are going to love this juicy turkey breast! It is amazing.
Boneless Turkey Breast Roast Tips
- Use a meat thermometer! This is a total must for cooking poultry properly.
- The safe internal temperature for a turkey is 170°F. Removing it from the heat at 165°F and allowing it to rest brings it to the perfect temperature.
- Thoroughly pat down butter and seasoning to give the meat a nice crust.
- Let your roast rest for about 10 minutes before slicing it.
Why You'll Love Cooking a Boneless Turkey Roast
- Convenience: Boneless turkey breasts are easier to handle and cook quickly, making them great for smaller gatherings and quicker meals.
- Even Cooking: They cook more evenly, producing juicier and more tender meat.
- Faster Cooking: Boneless turkey breasts cook faster as there are no bones to slow down the process.
- Dietary Preferences: Ideal for those who prefer white meat, which is more prominent in the turkey breast.
- Reduced Waste: Produces less waste compared to cooking a whole turkey.
- Thawing and Storage: Easier to thaw and store in the freezer due to their smaller size.
- SO EASY: This is the easiest and most flavorful turkey recipe you will ever make.
Boneless Turkey Breast FAQs
Why wait for Thanksgiving to make a turkey? A boneless turkey roast is a perfect choice for serving a small crowd over the holidays or for making dinner any time of the year without cooking a whole bird.
My family loves turkey so this is a winner at our house throughout the year! These roasts include both white and dark meat and usually come with a gravy packet. They are typically around 2.5 to 3 lbs. and will serve around 5 to 6 people.
You will need approximately half a pound person since you don't have to take bones into account. Of course, I love leftovers so I always add an extra pound.
How to Thaw a Turkey Breast
- To thaw in water, place the entire breast in the package in cold water for 2 to 3 hours, changing the water every 30 minutes.
- To thaw the turkey in the fridge: place the roast in the package in the bottom section of your refrigerator the day before. Let defrost for at least 24 hours.
- I do not recommend thawing it at room temperature. For more tips, take a look at my guide on Thawing a Turkey!
Turkey Breast Temperature
Always insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the breast. The safe internal temperature for a turkey is 165°F.
