Ingredients in Pulled Pork Nachos
Ingredient | Notes & Substitutions |
---|---|
Tortilla Chips | Use your favorite chips or make your own using tortillas! |
Leftover Pulled Pork | My pulled pork recipe uses pork loin roast, BBQ sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and black pepper. You can use any premade pulled pork or any meat you'd like, such as shredded chicken or chuck roast. |
Shredded Cheese | I like using a Mexican cheese blend when making nachos. You can use your favorite shredded cheese. |
Cotija Cheese | This crumbly cheese is perfect for making pulled pork nachos. You can also use queso fresco. |
Jalapeno | Sliced jalapenos are perfect for topping nachos, but leave them off if you don't want any spice. |
Avocado | Diced avocado makes a fresh, creamy topping for nachos. |
Tomato | Use ripe, fresh tomatoes, diced, for the best nachos topping. You can also use premade pico de gallo. |
Lime Juice | Make sure to use fresh lime juice - it will taste better than bottled lime juice. |
Red Onion | The sharp flavor of red onion is the best choice for nachos. You can also use pickled onions - these are my favorite! |
Cilantro | You can leave the cilantro off if you don't like cilantro, or use parsley in its place. |
Mexican Crema | Mexican crema is a mix of heavy cream, sour cream, sea salt, and lime juice. You can also use simple sour cream. |
BBQ Sauce | Use your favorite BBQ sauce, or make my BBQ sauce recipe using brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, water, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. |
