- After marinating, brush both sides of the steak with olive oil.
- Place the steaks on the air fryer rack. Cook for 4 minutes at 390°F.
- Flip and cook for another 4 minutes. Remove and top with garlic butter sauce and let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Filet Mignon Seasoning
Although the recipe calls for Chicago steak seasoning, you can use any type of steak seasoning you like. I love mixing my own filet mignon seasonings. My Dry Rub for Steak is amazing if you like a little sweet and spicy. Rosemary Salt Seasoning is also amazing on steak
Filet Mignon Sauce
The best sauce for filet mignon is Garlic Butter Sauce. Oh, it is so delicious! Garlicky, with a fresh herb finish from the parsley. It’s the perfect pairing with filet mignon!
I also recommend trying my lemon butter sauce, bearnaise sauce, or cowboy butter sauce.
Filet Mignon Recipe Tips
- Allow your steak to rest for at least 10 minutes after removing from the air fryer for best results.
- Slice against the grain using a sharp knife for the most tender steak.
- Measure using a meat thermometer and use my Steak Temperature Chart to cook to your perfect doneness. 4 minutes on each side will produce medium rare filet mignon (so long as they are the same size as the recipe calls for).
Air Fryer Filet Mignon RecipesFAQs
Ultimately, how long it takes to cook steak in the air fryer depends on two factors: the thickness of your steak, and your desired degree of doneness. For two 6-ounce filet mignon steaks cooked medium rare (135°F), it takes about 4 minutes on each side at 390°F. If you’d prefer yours a little more done, use a meat thermometer to measure doneness and add a minute to the cooking time as necessary.
Steak in the air fryer is more than just a time-saver: it creates a delicious, perfectly cooked steak with a nice crust. Air fryers are essentially small convection ovens, so they’re great for cooking steak all of the way through to your preferred doneness while “searing” it on the outside.
You should flip the steak in the air fryer halfway through the total cooking time for the best results. So, for this recipe, flip at the 4-minute mark, then cook another 4 minutes.
