Side Dishes for Pork Chops Tips
- Pork chops tend to cook quickly, so choose your sides before you start cooking, and get them prepped early! Most sides such as mashed potatoes and salads can be prepared ahead.
- When planning out sides, make sure you’re leaving the right appliances free! I’ve made the mistake of planning too many roasted sides and not having the oven space more times than I want to admit.
- A great way to pick sides is to pick them based on the sauce you’ll serve the pork with. Cranberry sauce goes best with green vegetables and sweet potatoes; gravy is dreamy with mashed potatoes and carrots!
What to Eat with Pork Chops FAQ
Hearty vegetables like potatoes, broccoli, and brussels sprouts all compliment the richness of pork. Pork also does very well paired with sweeter vegetables such as carrots and corn, as the natural sweetness compliments savory, salty pork beautifully!
Pork chops are perfect to pair with starchy sides that can soak up gravy, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta! I like serving pork chops with potatoes, a green or root vegetable, and a side salad to add something a little lighter to the plate.
Pork chops do well with savory or sweet sauces! I always love serving them with a classic Pork Gravy, but if I want to change things up, they’re incredibly delicious with a sweet and tangy Cranberry Sauce. Looking for something creamier? Try Remoulade sauce– it’s spicy, tangy, creamy, and totally delicious!
