Happy Sunday!
What a way to kick off September! Full disclosure — I haven’t been on a train in years (I mean years), but what a treat it was to hop on an outdoor train in Blue Ridge, Georgia, and ride along the Toccoa River all the way to the Tennessee border. The views were so peaceful and beautiful, and with the weather here in Georgia being absolutely perfect every day, I’m soaking it all in.
When I haven’t been outdoors, I’ve been in the kitchen recipe testing. Since you all love my breakfast casseroles so much, I’ve been working on new versions with a little twist — adding more protein. Hello, cottage cheese, I’m looking at you! I can’t wait to share these with you soon.
But for now, with the chill in the air and football season underway, my mind (and cravings!) go straight to one recipe: my chuck roast. Every year, the kids would look forward to me making it right at the start of football season. They couldn’t wait for that first roast of the season, piled high over creamy mashed potatoes. Just the thought of it makes me drool!
These are the meals that remind me how special food really is — not just the flavor, but the comfort, the traditions, and the memories we make around the family table. That’s what Sunday Supper is all about.
Wishing you the coziest start to September,
Isabel

This week's meal plan...
- Sunday: Reverse Sear Ribeye Steak
- Monday: Steak Nachos
- Tuesday: Steak and Potatoes
- Wednesday: Steak Quesadilla
- Thursday: Ham Steaks
- Friday: Ham and Cheese Sliders
- Saturday: Ham and Potato Casserole
🔪 Prep Plan:
On your prep day, cook your big batch of ribeye steak using the reverse sear method! Once cooked and cooled, slice and portion it out for Monday’s steak nachos, Tuesday’s steak and potatoes, and Wednesday’s steak quesadillas. Store each portion in an airtight container in the fridge.
While the steak is cooking, prep your ham! Slice ham steaks ahead of time so they’re ready for Thursday’s dinner. You can also cube some to use in Friday’s ham and cheese sliders and Saturday’s ham and potato casserole. Store in separate containers in the fridge.
While the pork is cooking, prep your toppings!
- Shred cheese and portion it for nachos, quesadillas, sliders, and casserole.
- Chop onions, peppers, or green onions to use across multiple meals.
- Parboil or dice potatoes so they’re ready to cook for Tuesday’s steak and potatoes and Saturday’s ham and potato casserole.
